Hello, my name is Mr. Bryan. I was born and raised in Columbia, SC. I am a graduate of Spring Valley High School. I furthered my education at Clemson University where I graduated December 2013 with a BA in Secondary Education and Mathematical Sciences. I am a second generation Clemson alumni, a second generation educator, and a second generation coach. I have a host of family members that have had the opportunity to play at the collegiate level, and I have also mentored and coached a host of athletes that are now in the collegiate ranks. I am blessed to continue my career here at Irmo High School. I have been in four different districts in the past 10 years, and now I am excited to have found a home here at Irmo High School. I take pride in my purpose, and plan to be a blessing to someone everyday. I am big on the whole aspect of RESPECT. Whether it be in the classroom, outside of the classroom, or on the field/court. I plan to teach our students what this looks like. I am passionate about transforming lives, and determined to be an inspiration in and out of the building.

Ms. Janel Johnson
My name is Janel Johnson and I am the Assistant Principal of Instruction at Irmo High School International School for the Arts. I previously served as the Academic Interventionist for four years at Irmo High School. I am so proud to be a part of the Yellow Jacket family.
I started my career as a Middle Grades Math Teacher in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. I went on to become the Math Facilitator at the district's alternative school. My career in coaching teachers started as a Teacher Development Coach for TEACH Charlotte, a teacher development program by The New Teacher Project. In 2013, I became the Middle Grades Mathematics Education Associate in the Office of Standards and Learning at the South Carolina Department for Education. In this role, I supported the implementation of state standards by developing and facilitating professional development. I became a Transformation Coach for the Office of School Transformation in 2017. In this role, I coached and supported instructional leadership teams and teachers in developing, implementing, and monitoring a comprehensive plan to improve instruction for all students based on the use of qualitative and quantitative data. I also served as the Recovery Network Program Associate for the Council of Chief State Schools to assist states with developing and implementing plans utilizing their COVID Relief Funding (ESSER I, ESSER II, and ARP).
I was raised in Hartsville, SC. I am a graduate of Mayo High School for Math, Science & Technology and Claflin University. I have also earned my Master’s in Curriculum & Instruction from Concordia University and my Master's in School Administration from Gardner-Webb University.
During my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cooking, creating things, traveling, and finding the joys in life. I value relationships, honesty, respect, and growth.

Ms. Jessica Marze
My name is Jessica Marze and I am an Assistant Principal at Irmo High School International School for the Arts. I am excited to be serving Irmo High School and our community as a part of the Yellow Jacket family.
I graduated from the College of Charleston in Charleston, S.C. with my Bachelor of Science in Special Education. I began my teaching career in 2005 in Lexington School District II serving middle school students with emotional and learning disabilities at the alternative school until 2015. During that time I also served as the Special Education Department Chair, Afterschool Alternative Coordinator, and served on the Superintendent’s Council. From there I transitioned to teach high school students in an academic support classroom for 4 years. I was named Teacher of the Year in 2016. In 2019, I joined the Seven Oaks family in Lexington Richland School District 5 teaching students in grades 3-5. Through my years in education, I came to understand my strength and passion in not only working with students, but also in mentoring teachers in classroom management, engaging instructional practices, special education law, and family engagement. I became the Behavior Interventionist at Irmo High School working with students and teachers to help all students prepare themselves for success beyond graduation. I am proud to be back at Irmo High School as one of the Assistant Principals to continue serving our school and community.
I was raised in Florence, S.C. and a proud graduate of South Florence High School. I earned my undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston in Charleston, S.C. with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education. My most recent degree is a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of South Carolina.
In my spare time I enjoy being with my family and friends, doing just about anything outside, and everything sports (especially soccer). I value trust and integrity and believe that everyone can succeed if they are taught the needed skills and are provided with the necessary resources to do so.

Mr. Ron McGinty

Mr. McGinty graduated from Presbyterian College in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies. While teaching at Dutch Fork High School, he received National Board For Professional Teaching Standards Certification and three Advanced Placement Certifications including AP Government, AP Macroeconomics and AP Microeconomics. After completing post-secondary work with the University of South Carolina, Mr. McGinty moved to Chapin Middle School as an Assistant Principal in 2013. While serving at Chapin Middle, Mr. McGinty has presented at National Forum School To Watch Conference and SC Association for Middle Level Education. Mr. McGinty is a diehard Carolina Gamecock fan and is excited to be at Irmo High School as an Assistant Principal.
Mr. Ryan Phillips
My name is Ryan Phillips and I am the Administrative Assistant Principal at Irmo High School International School for the Arts. I am excited to be serving Irmo High School and our community as a part of the Yellow Jacket family.
Prior to joining the administrative team at Irmo High School I taught seventh and eighth grade social studies at Chapin Middle School. Before working in School District Five I taught at Muller Road Middle School in Richland School District Two and Lower Richland High School in Richland School District One. I graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2007 with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and a minor in secondary education. After choosing a different career path initially, I returned to my original plan and became a certified educator through the Program of Alternative Certification (PACE) program in 2017. I received my Masters of Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina in 2022 in order to serve as school leader and be an advocate for public education. As a 2002 Dutch Fork high school graduate, I am excited to continue my career as an administrator in Richland School District Five, and am looking forward to a great year!
